Seeing Things In A New Light: Windless Kite Festival

A Windless Kite Festival
(Seemingly an oxymoron, if there ever was one.)

Held indoors
(Of course, where else do you fly a kite.)

In January
(Now the indoor part is starting to make sense, but still — there’s that no wind thing!)

An annual event celebrating its 12th year in 2013
(What could there possibly be to see?)

Athleticism, Artistry, Precision, Strength, Gentleness, Drama, Grace, Musicality ….

Spencer Watson at the AKA Open Individual Indoor Unlimited competition.
(Don’t be fooled by the slow beginning)
Music: Orchestra version of the Rolling Stones’ “Paint it Black”.

What do you see? Would you go to a competition? Would you participate?

  1. What do you see? Hours and hours of dedication! Would you go? If I hear about it in my neck of the woods, I’ll be there. Would you participate? Oh heck no but gosh is it beautiful to watch.
