Warning! The death of a Corvette is painful to watch and listen to for anyone who loves Corvettes, autos and racing. Traded in as part of the “Cash for Clunkers” program, sodium silicate solution is used to freeze up the engine. The death throes start about the three-minute mark.

It just seems incredibly sad that we are paying for whole sale destruction, in an effort to sustain a system of auto sales and manufacturing that no longer works. Too bad they didn’t use the money as a stake for bright young minds to creatively develop sleek fuel-efficient “improvements” to the old autos in the tradition and honor of America’s love affair with their cars.

What a monumental waste of resources!
