A bonus of our current Covid-19 life is having the time to find an awesome cover of an old favorite — Chicago’s 25 or 6 to 4. Especially when you feel like you’re sitting in a jam session with extremely talented musicians having the time of their life playing it.
What makes it even better is when you realize that this song is over 50 years old, and yet, it manages to speak to our covid world of seemingly endless days that can be every bit as overwhelming and maddening as trying to write a song at 25 or 26 minutes to 4 o’clock in the morning.
Excerpt lyrics of Chiago’s 25 or 6 to 4:
Staring blindly into space
Getting up to splash my face
Wanting just to stay awake
Wondering how much I can take
Should I try to do some more…
And, the icing on the cake is learning how these great musicians came together.
